The final 24 players returned at noon on Sunday for day 4 action at the 2010 PokerStars European Poker Tour London £10,250 no-limit hold’em main event. During a short day of play the field reduced from the final three tables to just one final table of eight. That final table will be televised tomorrow starting at noon local time (4 a.m. PST) on the EPT Live video feed.

Here is a look at the final-table seating chart with chip counts:

As you will see in the results list below the fourth day of the tournament was rather rough on some of the big-name players in the field. Team PokerStars pro Chad Brown was the first pro to start the trend, and he was quickly followed to the rail by Masaaki Kagawa. Young, American professionals Keven Stammen, Allen Bari, and Chance Kornuth were the next victims, and then John O’Shea from Ireland hit the rail in an unfortunate hand. He held ASpade Suit JSpade Suit against the AClub Suit 5Spade Suit of Artur Wasek. The board fell JClub Suit 5Club Suit 4Club Suit 3Club Suit giving Wasek a flush. The useless river fell 3Diamond Suit and the final Irishman hit the rail.

The only former world champion left in play was the next to fall. Team PokerStars pro Joe Hachem busted just after taking a new seat at the final two tables in 15th place. His A-5 ran into the A-K of John Juanda. The final Team PokerStars pro left in the field, Thomas Bichon, busted in 14th place.

Once again the culprit behind the elimination was Juanda, who grew his stack to 2 million by the time the field had reached two final tables, and by the end of play he had grown his stack to 7,075,000 (second chip-position). He is joined by rising star and Card Player Player of the Year challenger Thomas Marchese at the final table (fifth chip-position).

Marchese is currently 810 points behind the current leader Dwyte Pilgrim and he can close the gap and take the lead with a finish of fourth place or better tomorrow. If Marchese cashes in fifth place tomorrow, only 10 points will separate the two for the POY lead, making for a competitive contest during the final months of the year.

Phil Laak got into an ATV accident

Professional poker player Phil Laak was hospitalized on Thursday after an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) accident.

Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Brian Rast, Alec Torelli, David Wells, and three others (named Lee, Tony and Dave) all geared up for a camping trip in Oregon, according to Esfandiari.

The details are unclear, but it appears that Laak lost control of his ATV, sustaining major injuries including broken bones and lacerations to his right eye.

Card Player spoke to Esfandiari, who was bedside with Laak in the hospital, on Friday about his current condition.

“We were following Dave and Tony on the ATVs and we were keeping up very well,” explained Esfandiari. “We went over a sand dune, but there was a drop hidden behind it. It could have happened to either of us, honestly. Phil tried to jump off in mid-air, but he ended up landing on his bike. His elbow is broken and his wrist is all jacked up. His eye is also really messed up. Had it been one millimeter off, he’d probably be blind.”

Despite the horrific accident, Laak is apparently in good spirits. “He is handling it all very well,” said Esfandiari. “He was even cracking jokes with the police and paramedics who were on the scene. He wants to fly home tonight [Friday], but they aren’t sure if they will let him. We might have to drive.”

Laak’s Twitter page chronicled the following.

“In Victoria, 23 min flt to Vancouver where I will catch a flt to Oregon for rafting trip w the boys.”

2nd Place in $6.50 90 Man DS KO Turbo and FTP Updates

Well it's about time that FTP finally listened and added micro stakes. They have added new micro cash games .01/.02 NL and .02/.05 NL into the mix. Pokerstars has had these stakes forever and I'm not really sure why FTP took so long to do this. Another update I noticed is they added more 90 man DS KO sngs at different stake levels. I was pretty excited when I saw them and I jumped right into a $6.50 90 man DS KO. It was a wild tourney and I mostly played a lot of small ball poker and chipped up a bit early. Here are a few hands from the early part of the tourney.

Here I doubled up with AQs in a donkish way. I really thought everyone was weak. When the guy to my left bet 300 on the turn i really had a donk instinct and almost new i was going to get lucky, which was the case... I'm a Donk....

Here is a spot when I picked up AK. Suprised on the flop??? I sure wasn't and expected it, but you have got to love that river sometimes, weeeeee!!

The nice limp with 24 Suited!! I snapped called him so fast too with the outs I was given.

I found myself at the final table after 1 hour and 35 min of play. I came into the final table 5th in chips and was hoping to pick up a hand or two so I can let some of the players KO each other since they where playing very very fastly. Every other hand was an all-in. Having KO 5 people myself and the KO are worth $1 each, I figured since I only have $1.50 invested into this thing already that I'm going to go start making my moves now and take on the table bully. This is what happend right after that with 4 people left.

The chip leader was being a bully prick so I had to show him who's boss with 710 off :)

This is the very next hand after the 710 hand. Did he call because he was on tilt or because he is just plain retarded?

FTP Updates 12/12/08

Here's the basics of what was in the update:

A) Single Click Deposits. I know everyone here started with a $50 deposit 5 years ago and hasn't made a deposit since, but some players might appreciate this. You can set up certain payment types to be "Single Click" enabled, which will allow you to make deposits faster and easier. If you don't like the button on the table, you can disable the feature under the Cashier menu -> Single Click Settings.

B) Getting into SNGs is now easier in three different ways:
1. Some SNGs fill up really fast. Now there's a checkbox on the buyin screen that will buy you into the next available SNG of the same type if the one you're currently trying to register for fills up while you're on the buyin screen.
2. When you bust out of (or win) a SNG, the popup message will now include an option to open up the buyin dialog of the next available SNG of the same type.
3. Lastly, there will nearly always be a completely empty SNG of every type, allowing you to register for 8 at once, for example, without having to wait for each to fill one at a time.

C) Restricted tables. All ring game tables $50/$100 NL/PL and $200/$400 Limit and above are now "Restricted." This means you need to be cleared by our security team before being allowed to sit and play at these tables. This should help a couple of different problems in the high stakes games, including curbing multi-accounting before it starts.

D) More large tournament improvements. The last update improved our large tournament performance to the point where we could comfortably host 7,000 player tournaments with little to no client side lag (the server side of things wasn't the problem here). Some more improvements have been made, and we should be seeing 10,000+ player tournaments with the same level of performance. We also can do a new cool thing with tournament structures now, so look for some interesting structures soon.

E) Some smaller things: Local user preferences are now stored in XML. Old (most would agree better) fonts have returned to places like the Cashier. Bug fixes (including the one that was preventing a few people from opening all of the SNGs they should have been able to open)!

I am still perplexed every time I see this picture of Isabelle Mercier and Dario Minieri. Isabelle is at least ten years older than Dario. However, judging from this snap shot she seems to be quite fond of Dario indeed. Isabelle is a Team Pokerstars player but has yet to make any major splash on the tournament circuit. On the other hand Dario has done quite well online and we all remember his run in the WSOP 2 years ago. Dario actually was the first Pokerstars Supernova player to use his FPP’s to purchase a high end sports car.

Now that’s playing a lot of poker!

Mercier was previously dating Guy Liberte whom you may have seen on High Stakes poker. Hmmmm….do I see a pattern here?

PokerStars $500 FPP Tourney

Tonight was a boring night for me so I logged onto PokerStars to see what was going down. I had .09 cents and 12 fpps in my cashier. I browsed the freerolls and saw that there was a 10 fpp buy in multi with a $500 prize pool. I quickly joined and honestly didn't expect much of anything other than to pass some time. The total amount of entrants came out to 2843 people with 414 places being paid out. I was just playing my normal style of play and not acting 2 quickly and shoving all in with anything. Before the 1st break even hit I was in the money. I figured at this rate I just need to double a few times and I can coast my way into some more money. Well long story short I "coasted" my way into 2nd place winning myself $53.75 from a 10 fpp buy in. Not 2 shabby I must say. I came into the final table 6th in chips as well, so I played my game and just moved my way up the ladder. I was basically letting others knock themselves out. When I got heads up blinds where 50k/100k, so my opponent was in push/fold mode. All in all im happy with the win. I'm off to play some tourney/sngs with the winnings, so good luck to you all at the tables!

I'm finally back. I plan on turning this blog into a daily thing rather than a monthly like i have been. The tables have been ok to me as of late. Not to much to complain about other than the typical river fuck or 2 outer... Full Tilt Poker recently came out with these new sngs called The Matrix. At first i thought these where really cool and a great way to boost your bankroll. I was way off.... Do the math and you will see that you are better off playing 4 regular sngs than these matrix sngs. In order to really profit in these things you would have to play higher stakes. This is how these sngs work. 4 Sit & Gos, 9 players, 1 tournament. When you enter a Matrix tournament you’ll sit down to four Sit & Gos simultaneously—against the exact same players at each table. On top of competing for victory at each table, you’ll be rewarded for overall performance in the tournament as a whole in the form of Matrix points. You’ll score points for every player that you knockout and for every player that you outlast on each table. Most importantly, when the last table is finished, the players who’ve earned the highest Matrix scores will be paid out for their overall performance. Claim victory at all four tables to become the Dominatrix and scoop the entire Matrix prize pool. If you are bored and have time on your hands this is a great way to kill time and also have something else to sweat while in the game with the point system. If you have a really small bankroll, then this may be the type of sngs you are looking for. Good luck at the tablez everyone.

Home Games

Recently I have been playing in a lot of home game sngs. Nothing big, just some $10-$15 buy-ins with re-buys. We normally get a full table of 9 going so it creates for some fun action. It's a fun way to learn the live aspect of the game for some beginners. Out of the last 10 home games (recently we have been playing 2-3 times a week) I have won 7 times and got second place twice. Not to shabby. I am the most experienced player at the table having played more than all of the players combined I'm sure. There are some decent players in the field though. My brother for one is probably my toughest opponent at the table. I taught him a lot and he has crafted his own style of the game. I take these home games not as seriously as I would a real sng tourney, but I do enjoy some good competition. Home games are a way to enjoy yourself with your friends and family, learn more about a game you love and also try to make some money. Home games aren't always about the money, but for some people that's all that matters. There is nothing wrong with that outlook on it, but I just dislike when some people go overboard when they have a bad beat put on them. I handle my beats really calm, cool and collected. That's only because I have played so many hands online over the past 7 years, that I pretty much have seen it all and don't get to upset or surprised. Overall I enjoy my home game crew and I look forward to more fun games and laughs. Good luck to everyone on the felt.

I was really bored last night and started to watch Semi-Pro. Let me tell you that is one of the lamest movies I have ever saw. Will Ferell wasn't even funny in it really and that's sad. Anyways to fight the bordem I entered a few micro staked sngs. This is what happened a few hands into a HU sng.

Back On the Virtual Felt

Hello fellow grinderz...
I have been away for a while.. I made a lot of mistake in my life and I have finally gotten over everything and made things right again, so now my head is finally straight. I sat down on Thursday to play some FTP and I have been running good ever since. Lately I really have been focusing more on my heads up play. So for practice I played a session of 25 $2 turbo HU sngs. My end result was 17/25 (68%) not bad I think. I really worked on my game and figured out a lot of things and I was able to see by my results that my strategy's are working well. I then proceeded to play some turbo sngs and a Multi Shoot-Out (81 max) for a FTOP ME sat seat for $109t. I'll leave u all with a few screen shots. I made it to the final table of the 81 max $4.40 shoot out for a seat in a $109t FTOP ME sat. I was the 1st one to finish my table so I had to wait about half hour for everyone else to finish before the final table started. Top 3 players would win the seat. I got 2nd place and then i proceeded to unregister for the $109T. $104.60 profit aint bad is it? :)

IM BACK!!! I haven't blogged much lately. I have been hitting the tables though. I will be more active on here and post more frequently. Lately I have been playing a lot of .50/$1 heads up NL cash games and my normal low/mid stake turbo sngs. The other day I played 2 $50+5 9 man sngs on FTP with poker pro Lynette Chan! It was really fun to play poker with her. She bets really odd numbers when she plays. For example she will bet numbers like 222, 123, 555. I started to play back at her though with the same odd bets. I got T3 (top 3) in both sngs with her to at least cash. Here are the screen shots of the results of the sngs and some other random hands. Enjoy :)

TheV0id Forfeits His $1.2 Million First-Place Prize, All Other Entrants Move Up the Payscale
PokerStars has announced that, after recently concluding a two-week long investigation, it has disqualified the winner of the Sept. 30 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) main event and redistributed the prize pool for the tournament.

The winner of the event, TheV0id, would have received $1.2 million for being the last man standing in the tournament, but his disqualification means that every other player in the event will move up one spot in the payout structure (and the two-way deal at the final table is nullified).

Thus, the new official results for the final table are:

The bubble boy in the event, alkemizt, who previously finished in 415th place, will now find $2,998 in his account, an unexpected, but undoubtedly welcome, surprise.

The PokerStars security team began investigating TheV0id's win immediately, and yesterday they announced the results of the investigation:

The investigation into the WCOOP main event has now been concluded.

We have determined, based on the totality of evidence, that the tournament winner “TheV0id” was in breach of the PokerStars Terms of Service.

In the interests of game integrity, “TheV0id” has been disqualified from first place.

All other WCOOP main event prize-winners, in addition to the player who originally bubbled in 415th place, will therefore advance one place in the prize pool. The necessary financial adjustments to reflect the revised tournament places will be made within the next 24 hours.

Please note that we are unable to release further details of this investigation, for reasons of confidentiality and privacy.

Some Interesting Hands

This first hand I show is from a .10/.25 NL Holdem Table. Big Blind made it $3 to go preflop. I raised it to $7 and he insta-called. The flop was J(s)7(s)4(d). He bets out $4 and I waited a few seconds then min raised. He insta-called again. Turn was 8(s) and he moves the rest of his $11 into the pot. I knew from the way this player has been playing that he either hit the flush already or is drawing a high flush, and since I had the ace of spades and he only had $11 left with a nice sized pot already I had to call. I see him flip over K(s)Q(s) and my read was right, but I was behind. River comes 3(s) to give me the nut flush and the pot. Lucky suck out for aces, but at least they won this time.

This hand was from a Sng. The typical all-in preflop of AK vs AK. I had the unsuited AK and of course I hit my 4 card spade flush on the river to knock out this other guy. I should have took a screenshot of the chat afterwards, lol.

This hand was from a .10/.25 nl cash game. I was dominating this table and had everyone running for the hills, lol. This hand came up when this donk I busted 2 times already decides to take a stand with 10(s)10(d). I won't go into detail as the screenshot explains itself. I'm sure when support gets the email i sent them of the things he said afterwards his chat will be banned for a while I'm sure. :)

This is from another SNG. This guy with the A(d)J(c) was being cocky the whole entire game, pushing people around and he didn't even have a big stack. Well I was waiting to snag his stack as I knew exactly what he was doing. I pick up Q(s)Q(d) on the button. This dick insta-shoves all in and of course I insta-call. Look at the aftermath, I flop it! The funny thing was this moron failed to see the Q(c) on the flop and thought he won and was saying, "thanks for this chips, hahahahaha". I paused and waited for Full Tilt to take him of the table as he lost the hand. The observer chat was very funny afterwards. I have to start posting these observer chats, lol.

The $5 Million guaranteed main event at Pokerstars started yesterday at around 4:30ish pm. It is now 8:21 am my time the next morning and the $2,500+$100 buy in is still going!!! Not even the final table yet either!!! A pokerstars pro is still in the mix LadyMaverick (Vannessa Russo) which is always cool to see the sponsered pros still deep in these events. **(Russo placed 3rd for $463.940k)** Here are the payouts for this event:

Insane 1st place prize. I'm going to be watching this and see what kind of deal the final table makes. So far it has been running for 17 hours. What a nice payday to sit in front of your computer and play some online poker. I'll update my blog with the results even though I'm sure you'll here them somewhere online if your an online/live poker player. Today online poker goes back to normal for a while as there are no big events. You always have your Sunday events, but with the FTOPS and WCOOP over for now, its back to the normal grind.

**SIDE NOTES**
Yesterday we had our monthly home game and I'd like to say Congratz to my brother for having a good day in poker. He cashed good in the cash games and took down 2nd place (knocking me out in 3rd) in the NL Holdem tourney. It was a fun game with a lot of WALLACES!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

PPA Scheduled to Launch Aggressive Campaign in D.C. (Cardplayer)

The Policy Conference is Scheduled for Oct. 22-24

Having recently moved its headquarters to Washington, D.C., the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is taking advantage of its close vicinity to the lawmakers who have the ability to make the future of online gambling a favorable one to poker players by launching its biggest initiative yet. A Policy Conference is scheduled for Oct. 22-24, and the PPA is calling on all of its nearly 800,000 members to come and support the three-day campaign.

The Policy Conference will take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel and begin with a welcome reception at 6 p.m. on Monday. Attendees will get the opportunity to meet Members of Congress who vote on the issue at hand and ultimately hold the power to induce change.

The goal of the conference is to help Members of Congress better understand that poker is a game of skill and that Internet gaming should be reasonably regulated rather than banned.

The PPA sent a mass e-mail to all members encouraging attendance to the event and reminding people of the impact that participation will make in the fight to save online gambling.

“Members of Congress need to hear from their constituents. Without you, the poker prohibitionists will continue to make the rules. With you, we can protect games of skill from unfair government interference.”

Discounted hotel rates are available and transportation will provided to Capitol Hill. Everyone, including non-PPA members, are encouraged to participate.

What a great week for the FTP Donks

That screenshot pretty much sums up my week at FTP. That hand you see there, I went all in preflop for about $45 bucks or so after the pot was raised twice before me. Of course those soooooted connectors had to be playable right?? Stupid fuck donkeys, all damn week. Suck out here, river flush here oh oh and don't forget when u have them dominated and they get a 4 flush :). Somehow though I managed to still do well and profit some for the week. It was not nearly as much as I should have had made, but at least I'm in the profit zone right?

I'd like to thank all the people who helped me with the FTP to Paypal transfers. It was for a good cause and I'm so very thankful for everyone's help. Keeping track:
Does anyone record or keep track of there investments/cashes with online poker? I have a notebook I have sitting next to me every time I play online. I write down the number of the game it is for me, then the buy-in amount, type of tourney I'm in and then finally what place and how much I cashed for.

Example:
1) $22+2 Turbo= 1st for $99
2) $22+2 Turbo= 2nd for $59.40

Then at the end of my session/day I'll add up all my investments including the house fees. Then of course I add up my cashes and subtract that buy my investment for my profit number for the day. I'm just wondering if anyone else has a system like this? Any comments on the way my system is? I like it and it helps me a lot with my bankroll management. I have played for about 4-5 years now and this has been a decent year for me. I tested myself and built $90 into over $1100 in little less than 2 weeks, just from playing sngs. I think that's a pretty good accomplishment. I haven't gone bust either. I'm on the verge of building my roll back up because I cashed a lot of it out for personal reasons. Again thank you to everyone who has helped me with that.

I had a pretty decent week. Made some good profits. Turned $6.60 into $186.30 for a $179.70 profit. That's always fun. My buddy Keith has been on a multi-table rush and is a cashing machine. Good job to you sir. I'm going to try to satellite my way into the 500k tomorrow and the 1 Mil tourney in a few weeks. I'm doing pretty good on the leaderboard I'm currently ranked 112th. Top 100 get a a pretty sweet deal.

Anyways hope everyone is having good luck on the tables and I shall be posting a nice one either tomorrow or Monday.

Ok fine it came As-Qd-Qs-7h-5h. How wonderful huh? Anyways, I did fairly well in my sng sessions that it covered the lost buy-ins. I won a few $22+2 turbos for $99 and a $50+5 normal sng for $225. I'll be in that 15k again today and the Fifty-Fifty tonight as well. That 15k bad beat still haunts me. If I would have not gotten screwed I would have been at the final table making some good money...... Very depressing, but I can't let that stop me. This post is a little late but I'd like to again congratulate my partner in crime, KEITH for his 18th finish in the 400k about 2 weeks ago! It was his biggest cash and boy what a cash at that. For a small investment of $6.60 Keith turned that into little over 2.9k. What an amazing profit and run! We are both members of a group called Railbirds.com and there are pros who are members there as well. One pro, William Thorson who is a member of the railbirds club has been in contact with Keith recently. He watched Keith play in the 400k and Keith received these messages in his Railbirds message inbox.

SNG Galore

I have been doing about 25+ sngs a day lately. I'm ranked 142nd on the sng low leaderboard at the moment. I keep climbing up that ladder fairly fast. I'm going to make it to the silver 15k freeroll that's for sure. Missed only 1 day so far this month and 3 of the days were under 200 pts so that screwed my chances at the gold freeroll. I been really grinding it out playing 4 sngs at a time, mostly $22+2 turbos. I have been trying the $20+2 18 man and 45 man sngs, and have done fairly well in both almost always making the final table. In the last week I have played over 190+ sngs and have seen some crazy shit as normal. I'll post a few screenshots for fun.

All in all I made a great profit. I did have a streak of losses but my wins pulled in more than the losses. I'm gonna play more of the 18 man and 45 man sngs seeing how there is some decent money you can win for the buy-in. Here's some screenshots of stuff that went well.

My $30+3 DS Multi Experience

1st I would like to congratulate my buddy Keith on his 18th place finish in the Full Tilt Poker 400k on Sunday. He played an amazing game and turned $6.60 into $2,931.

I'd say thats a pretty damn good profit. He played such a great game, made amazing folds, great calls and if anyone deserved this it was Keith. Great all around player from NL Holdem to Razz. Good job again buddy, so happy for you! It makes me so happy when good people win. He's been a great friend ever since we met at the tables, and I can't wait to go visit him and play some poker and enjoy the BC area, he's knows what I'm talkin bout, LMAO. Well done Keith, U DA MAN BROTHA!

Ok back to me now, hahaha.
I entered a $30+3 DS Multi yesterday and I was running pretty solid through the whole thing. This hand got me started with a nice stack and I had 12.5k about after the hand was over. Talk about a BB special!!!

SLB159 and I were chatting while I was playing and he witnessed all the garbage that happend to me. Let's start off with this wonderful hand I got screwed on.

I should have had 28k after that hand. It was very frustrating because if i had that stack I know only good could have come of it. That's poker and we have to deal with it all. Then not to long after that hand I made a little booboo. I had a5 soooted and i raised the BB the pot. He shoved it in for about 10k and I honestly thought he thought I was buying the pot and that he had garbage. Well turns out he had A10 off and well, I got lucky only to get unlucky on the wonderful river as you can see.

All in all I got my money in pretty much with the best of it except for 2 times and thats what killed me. I got 38th out of 227 and 27 payouts.. Frustrating. Last night I played 13 sngs. I did decent and got 6/13. Not bad I guess, but there was one sng i amazed myself in. The last sng I did for the night was a $33+3 turbo 9 man sng. 6th hand i pick up QQ, 1 player raised, another calls, then another pushes all in. I insta called the all in only 3 seconds later 2 say aloud, "shit i know he has to have AA or KK. Sure enough he had AA and took down the huge pot and left me with 80 chips. I don't even know how many times i doubled/tripled up, but I ended up coming back form 80 chips to take down the whole sng. It was one of my greatest comebacks I've done in a sng.

I also I won my seat into the 400k $50+5 sat for only $7.60. If I were to sat my way into the 400k for only $7.60 I will be a very happy man, esp. if I cash in it too. I'm also going to be playing in the FTP strategy guide tourney $10+1 where the top 50 players get an autographed copy of the new FTP book. Can't Complain

I have been doin pretty decent at the tables lately. Pulling in a lot of 1st and 2nd place finished in $22-$33-$55 turbo sngs at full tilt. Few bad beats which caused a bunch of 2nd place finishes. Tomorrow I'm planning on trying a sat or 2 into the 400k on ftp. Well I'm going back to grind out some more sngs, hope everyone has a great weekend and GOOD LUCK at the tables. New Bill Would Tax 2 Percent of Poker Deposits
Sites, Not Players, Would Be Responsible for Paying Tax
A companion bill to Barney Frank’s Internet Gambling and Regulation Enforcement Act was introduced in the House of Representatives last night by Washington State Congressman Jim McDermott.

McDermott’s Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative would tax 2 percent of a person’s online poker or gambling deposits. The licensed sites would be responsible to pay the government the 2 percent of all deposits made for real-money play.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network would be responsible for licensing the sites. According to the Safe and Secure Gambling Initiative, a lobby organization that’s fighting for online gambling’s legality, between $6 billion and $25 billion would be raised from McDermott’s bill through taxation in the first five years.

Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley is the bill’s co-sponsor. Berkley is also sponsoring a bill that calls for an intensive study on Internet gambling to determine if current technology could be used to taxed, regulate, and provide protection for minors.

Frank's bill would legalize online gambling, including poker, in the United States. It would provide a regulatory framework to tax and regulate online gambling.

Earlier this week, Florida Rep. Robert Wexler introduced a bill that would exempt poker and other games of skill from all current anti-online gambling laws, including the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that was passed last year.

Yesterday's SNG Session

Last night I did only a session of 4 sngs.
*$11+1 -9 man turbo = 4th place for $0
*$20+2 -6 man = 4th place for $0
*$22+2 -9 man turbo = 1st place for $99
*$10+1 -90 man DS = 6th place for $50

I had all these going at the same time. Obviously the $10 DS lasted the longest for me, 3 hours to be exact. I got quads once again early in the 1st hour of the tourney. If you scroll down you'll see I got quads 3 times within 2 days, and now this? Lucky me I guess...

I shouldn't have made it to the final table because of a bad beat that was put on me.

The donkey to my right in the above screen shot was playing like a dumb shit the whole time. His stats were horrible, he only plays the $1 and $2 sngs, so he must have been crapping his pants to make it this far. This is normal though, didn't phase me. I was left with about 1.1k after that hand.

After that exact hand I picked up A7o and I pushed in the rest of my stack. Blinds where 200/400 at this point. Everyone folded to me. I was sitting on a stack of about 1925 at this point. The next very hand I picked up 1010. I pushed it all in and got called by JJ. Flopped a set and doubled up. I got very lucky there, that hand single handedly saved me in the tourney and the reason I made it to the final table.
It was after the bubble was broken that people started playing loose. I picked up AK in the sb and moved all in. This is the result:

Then about 5 hands later this happens. I raised preflop half my stack and the guy on my left insta shoved, so I had to call. Result:

That was good enough for me to make it to the final table with a stack of 15.4k.

I didn't take anymore screen shots, but at one point at the final table I was the chip leader with 71k. I picked up AKd and shoved my whole stack in to steal blinds and antes, but also I had a hand so wouldn't have minded a call for a race or what not. I got what I asked for and was called by JJ. I didn't hit and was left with 17k with blinds 1200k/2400k. Next hand I picked up A10s and shoved it all in and of course a smart man called me with k4 off for half his stack. This brave man hit 2 pair to knock me out in 6th for $50. I was a little disapointed but the fact that I got lucky as hell to get to that point made it ok. Profit is a profit and I'll take it any day. Maybe next time I won't play so stupid with AK.

I guess it was an ok night for me. Haven't played as many sng's because I started a new job on Monday. Gonna play a 4 sng session right now, so I'm off to the tables. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make my blog better please comment me and let me know. Good luck at the tables everyone!

All in all I had a good night at the tables. I mostly only played the $6.60 and $11+1 turbos tonight. Once again the donks were out but tonight poker gods were nice to me :) Finally got set-up with Full Tilt to send checks home, and i built my account up very nicely. Time to enjoy some of the donks money, ahahahaha. Good Luck at the tables everyone!

bklops raised to 60, I made it 390, then kath7leen pushed all in and bklops insta called. What am I supposed to lay down kings???? I put them on exactly what i thought AA or AK hoping to maybe get lucky. LOL, never fails at FTP :)

I'm so used to this it doesn't even phase me anymore.

The donkey sure were out tonight, no matter what stake you played. I only lost $55 tonight so I can't complain to much. This is the 1st bad night I've had in a while so it's just expected, you can't win them all. Best I did tonight was 3rd in a $11+1 turbo sng. Don't you just love poker?

Illinois Proposes Legalized Internet Gambling

In an effort to find more sources of revenue for the state’s budget, Illinois Democratic leaders have developed a plan to partially legalize internet gambling.

Backed by both Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and Senate President Emil Jones Jr., the plan would allow for bookies to become licensed to take bets over the phone or internet. Additionally, horse tracks would be allowed to setup online poker rooms. Other brick and mortar casino initiatives are also part of the proposal.

Interestingly enough, part of Governor Blagojevich’s campaign platform in 2002 was his opposition to gambling expansion. He is more passionate, however, about getting his multi-billion dollar health care expansion financed.

FTP Support Sucks....

Today was a hell of a day. This morning I emailed support my info to have a sent check home. I scanned and sent in my ID and utility bill for verification. I go to sign into my ftp name Joey_the_Chips and it says my account has been suspended. My mouth dropped.... I had about $800 bucks in there that i built up from $90. They told me I had multiple accounts and that they would transfer my money to my primary account which is JoCo23. RIP joey_the_chips and im back on my old name JoCo23. So for all my blogger friends, I'll be playing under that name form now on. FTP took all day just to email me back, I really hate there support. FTP should get a toll free number or something because they took way to long to answer there emails. Every other site emails you back almost within the hour of you sending them an email. I guess I am very fortunate that they didn't close all my accounts and keep my funds. I'd like to thank SLB159 for sending me $20 and my buddy Keith for sending me $11 to play with until I got my funds back from FTP. I worked that $31 into about $110 bucks within an hour and a half. FTP even carried over my chat ban onto Joco23, lol. Still waiting for them to transfer my ftp points to my account still though. But all in all I'm very happy I got my money back and I'm able to play.

Here is a screenshot of the final hand I played heads up in a $22+2 9 man turbo sng. The guy I was heads up against was a donk and kept raising on anything. I had about 10.4k in chips and he pushed all in, I called him and this is the final result, lol.

I figured 56 soooted would be live against anything he was shoving with, since he was playing like a maniac the whole game anyways. I took it down for the $99 and was very pleased.

I wanted to do the riverchaser blogger event tonight, but I was in the proccess of building a bankroll until they sent me my money. So for all the bloggers who play in those events, I'll be playing under Joco23 and not Joey_the_Chips so there is no confusion with the rankings and what not. Well I think it's time for me to hit the tables, so I'd like to wish everyone good luck and good cards. Well I did better than last time, lol. Last weeks I busted out 1st. This week I busted out in 19th because of some donkey bs I tried to pull. I was doing very well the whole tourney up into that point. It was fun and very entertaining. That's the only thing i have played all day. I think I might do 1 or 2 sngs then call it a night because I'm very tired. Tomorrow I plan on playing a very long session.

No more low level sng's unless it's for a token. This should sum up the reason why:

The 2007 World Series of Poker is right around the corner. I know a lot of the bloggers are planning on going. I know a few bloggers who have won either a Main Event seat or a $2k buy-in seat. I'm going to try and win a seat at the main event this year. Bodog has $270 Qualifiers that run every few days and you can satellite your way in for $27. Not bad if you want to try to win a seat for very cheap. I will be trying to satellite my way into a few of these myself. Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend.

I have been doing pretty good in my sngs as of late. Today I only play a $6.60 Tier One 6 man sng and took it down for the $26 token. Then with that token I entered a Tier Two $24+2 with my token. I got 3rd for $66. $54.40 profit, so not bad. Then I did a $8.70 Tier One 2 table sng. I got donked out in 7th, bubbled the damn thing.

I figured since I haven't done any multis in a long time I enter a donkfest for fun. I decided to do the Midnight Madness for $10+1. It came down to this, I had KK early position and pushed all in. Blinds were 250/500 and I had about 4.3k. Well i got insta called with AA and he hits trips on the flop to knock me out in 169th place out of 1377. I made $15.15 for a whopping $4.15 profit! I have huge plans for that money, lol. Anyways, I was kinda proud to make it that far seeing how I haven't played any multis in months.

On another note.
Congratz again to The SNG Machine on making yet another final table, this time in the 40k. He took 3rd for 7.9k about I think. What a great month he is having. Wish i was that HOT!

I'm planning on play a $75 tourney tomorrow or the following day so wish my luck. As for now I'm off to the tables for a few more sng's. GL at the tables everyone.

My Short Night

tonight i sat down to play 5 sngs. i sat down around 1:15am and finished at about 3:15 am. i woudl have played more but i got tired and im not about 2 donk away money. anyways, i played a 2 $11+1 turbos and got 6th in one and 3rd for $19.80 in another. another blogger suggested i do the $8.7 tier 1 sngs. i played one of them and placed 2nd and got my $26 token.

then i moved onto a $22+2 turbo. i doubled up 2nd hand. i had 66 and the pot was raised to 75 preflop. everyone folds and i called the small raise. flop 8-5-6 rainbow. i check it and my opponent proceeds to bet out $500. i dont want any silly str8s to come so of course i moved all in with my trip 6s. he insta called with 99. then the bitching proceeded in the chat box how im a donk for callign a 75 chips raise with 66? hahah ty again for the donation donkey. I ended up winning the sng and tooke down the $99 first place prize.

My last sng was another $22+2 turbo. the same donk i busted with my 6's was in this one as well. funny thing is i busted him on the bubble with 88. felt nice 2 shut the donk up 2 times in a row :) I played pretty decent i think expect for 1 mistake which costed me the 1st place prize. i ended up getting 2nd for $59.40, not bad either.

Today/Tonight has been very profitable for me. I have been very successful at the tables and haven't had any horrible beats. Tonight I played 2 $11 turbos and they went decent. I took 1 down and got knocked out 5th in another. I also played 3 $22 turbos. I'm going to put up one screen shot that sums up my $22 sngs.

Felt really good to take 3 in a row down. My game has gotten really solid and my online reads are getting better and better. I had $90 in my account exactly 1 week ago from my affiliate earnings for the month. I built it up to this:

Getting Hot.....

Quick little entry here. I'm getting pretty hot right now in the sngs. For the last week i have been cashing in almost every single sng i play in from stakes $11 and up. Starting to build up my roll really well and my confidence level. Startign to feel great. Today I Played 2 $11 turbos and finished in 1st and 2nd. Then I played a $69+$6 sng turbo with a $75 token i won the night before in a $6.60 sng. I placed 1st in it for $310.50. I was very happy with that considering it's a $303.90 profit from a $6.60 invesment. I have been doing very well in my sngs lately and hope i can keep it up. I met some new poker bloggers today and found out about The Mookie tourney tonight on FTP. All the bloggers are in it and im really looking foward to it. Kinda sucks for me cause i can't chat, due to the fact my chats been banned for 3 months, lol. Well good luck to everyone tonight at the table and in The Mookie. I donked out of The Mookie 1st! 1st hand I Had KQh, someone raised to 90 preflop. The flop came Qd 7h 8h. guy raised to $200, so i reraised to 675. He came over the top and i figured since i have top pair and a the 2nd nut flush draw that i called. He had AA and i didn't hit anything on the turn or river. Hot or Not?

Well last night was an ok night. The last week i have been doing really well. I had to stop and think if it was just FTP letting me get lucky for once or if my style of play finally developed into what i wanted it to. I'm very happy where I'm at.

I played a few Tier Two sngs and a some $8 turbos and $11 turbos. I Ended up at the tier two sng with smokkee again. I made a play on him a little early on and left him with about 750, if u were wondering i had QQ on that hand. I put u on AK, AQ, was i right? anyways, he built it back up really quick, due to the morons at the table. there was this one donk at the table that stuck out mbf0700. He was talking mad smack to smokkee and just playing like a dumbass. well it came down to 4, myself, smokkee, mbf0700 and some other guy. I was sitting here hoping this dumbass would bubble cause he didn't deserve shit. well after smokkee broke him down to about 800 chips, I finished the job and busted his ass out with trip kings :). I finihsed in 2nd and earned my $75 token off my $6.60 investment. Smokkee finished in 3rd because of some horrible call by the other guy. I mean horrible! anyways, my $8 turbos went to shit. i was playing fairly tight and was 2nd in chips for a while in both sngs and then ftp just worked its magic. Picked up KK in one and guy made it 450 to go with blinds 100/200. I pushed him in and he call's my very bravely with 22!!!! WTF! guess what happend? No not trips, try quads on the flop! I'm happy im used to this stuff or this keyboard wouldn't be in a million pieces. The other $8 turbo i had AA and was all in for another donk to call with 78 hearts. I forgot it was suited so it's ok to call your whole stack with it. It's rule #2 in the donkey handbook or something. MORONS!

The $11 turbos went well for me though. Took one down and got a 2nd. It was a decent little night for me. Today/Tonight i plan on playing a few sessions also might do some multis. I used to play a lot of multis and did pretty decent. I'm thinking about doing a lot more. I was going to play a lot more last night but i was watching The SNG MACHINE win a seat into the 2007 Main Event! Congrats!!! Not only did he do that, i was watching him in the 26k as well. For the 2nd time within 2 days Cracknaces (thesngmachine) made it to the final table again!!! he finished in 5th! Amazing job sir.

1st Poker Blog Post

well i have been reading a lot of other's poker blogs and have finally decided to enter myself into this mess. i used to dominate at hollywood poker. they had the 5 handed sngs, it was so easy 2 clean up there. since they been gone i been a full tilter and haven't played anywere else. i dont really like pokerstars that much, but they do have better tourneys for your money. i been playing online for about 4 years now and live for about the same. im not a big shot, just a guy grinding it out, building up the stack. as of the last 2 days i been really hot. today i started off my day with a 4 table session of sngs. i did 2 tier two $26 single table turbos, and 2 $12 single table turbos. played very well and tight throught out both of them. didn't get donked out with any horrible sucks outs at all. Got 3rd in both of the tier two sng's for a total of $132. thats off of a $13.20 invesment (i won 2 tier one single sngs) for a total of $118.8 profit. as for the $12 single turbos i got donked out of one and 3rd in the other for $19.80. so that was a decent lil session for me off little investment risk. i ended up playing one of the tier two sngs with another poker blogger $mokkee. i enjoy reading his blog and a few other bloggers such a The SNG Machine (congrats on the 26k win on ftp by the way). anyways i got quads on smokkee and he made a good fold. check out the pic.
